Found out the FAA lets you log time on a plane you never touched
Was reading AC 120-72A last week and hit the part about flight engineers logging time in planes with no FE station, as long as the type cert used to call for one. So a guy can pencil in turbine time on a 727 without ever riding in the jumpseat. Anyone else run into logbook rules that sound made up but are actually legal?

Man, a buddy of mine logged a ton of time in a 747 sim because the rules let him count some of it toward his ratings, and he swears it helped him get hired. The whole thing sounds like a loophole someone dreamed up at a bar, but the regs back it up if you read the fine print. Logbook rules are wild like that, what counts on paper and what counts in the air are two different things.
