A guy in Tulsa showed me his logbook from 30 years of wrenching, and one line changed how I do paperwork
Was at a shop in Tulsa helping a buddy on a 172 annual when his dad pulled out his old logbook. Thing was from 1989, 4,000 plus entries, and every single one had the part number written out next to the work. He said an FAA inspector asked him once in 1994 where a specific bolt came from, and he had the answer in 30 seconds. I'd been writing "replaced hardware as needed" for 8 years. Started putting part numbers and torque values in every entry after that. Anyone else ever get burned by a vague logbook entry?
