Just had to decide between parchment paper and a basket liner for my air fryer
I was making a batch of chicken wings last night and realized I was out of my usual parchment sheets. I had to pick between buying a reusable silicone basket liner or just sticking with the disposable paper. I went with the liner, a $12 one from the store. It worked fine for the wings, but it made the skin less crispy than the paper does, even after 25 minutes at 400 degrees. Now I'm stuck with this thing and I'm not sure it was the right call. Has anyone else tried a silicone liner and found a way to get things really crispy with it?

Been there... my kitchen drawer is full of "one time use" gadgets that seemed smart at the store. The silicone liner just traps a bit of steam, which is the enemy of crisp. You could try spraying it with a little oil and preheating it, but it might never match parchment. Sometimes the simple, cheap option is just better.

One time use gadgets" is a whole drawer? That's a serious problem.
