Found out my grandma's air fryer cornbread trick uses a pan she bought in 1978
I was digging through my grandma's recipe box in Toledo and found her cornbread card, and stuck to the back was a note about cooking it in the air fryer in a little 6 inch cast iron pan she got at a garage sale back in 1978 for two dollars. She wrote that the hot pan is the whole trick, you put it in empty at 400 for 5 minutes, then pour the batter in and it crisps the bottom in about 12 minutes. I tried it in my own air fryer and the crust came out better than anything I ever got in the regular oven. Now I want to know if anyone else preheats their pan in there or am I late to this?
