Visited the LA auto show and the AI parking assist demo blew me away

I went last Saturday with my brother, not expecting much honestly. But there was this booth where they let you stand outside a car while it parallel parked itself between two cones with maybe 4 inches to spare. It corrected itself twice when a guy walked behind it. I mean, I've seen backup cameras and lane warnings, but watching a car make its own judgment calls in real time felt like science fiction. The rep said the system processes like 30 different sensor feeds every second. Has anyone else tried one of these in a real tight spot, like downtown street parking? I'm curious if it actually holds up when there's a fire hydrant and a delivery truck involved.
