Ran Stable Diffusion on a 5 year old laptop and it actually worked better than expected
Tried generating some images with Stable Diffusion on my old Dell from 2019 with 8GB of RAM. Figured it would crash but got a decent image in about 4 minutes. Anyone else have luck running AI tools on older hardware for specific tasks?

It's like how people think older tech is dead weight, but sometimes the older gear just needs the right job and it surprises you... kind of like how a beat up truck can still haul stuff fine if you don't push it too hard.

Why would you keep using something that's clearly past its prime when newer stuff does the same job with less hassle? That beat up truck might still run, but it's going to guzzle gas and break down at the worst possible time. Better to just swap it out for something modern that actually works without constant babysitting.
