Took me 5 days to realize AI hands were breaking my prompt, not the model

So I've been messing with AI image generators for about two months now, mostly trying to get a decent picture of a woman holding a coffee cup for a project. Every single result had weird fingers, extra knuckles, thumbs going the wrong way. I figured it was just the model being bad at hands, which everyone complains about, right? Wrong. After five days of tweaking negative prompts and re-rolling like 200 times I finally tried just... cropping the hands out of the prompt entirely. Picture of a woman, mug on a table, no hands. Bam, clean image in 30 seconds. I wasted almost a full week blaming the tech when the real issue was me asking for the one thing AI is famously bad at. Now I want to know, is everyone just accepting the hand thing forever or has someone actually cracked a workflow for this? Feels like a real art problem, not a tech problem.
