The sky photo that made me doubt my own eyes
Last month I posted a shot of a sunset with birds flying over Lake Erie that I made in Stable Diffusion, and someone in the comments asked if I'd tweaked a real photo instead of generating it. The funny thing is, I couldn't fully answer them because even I had to zoom in on the wing shadows to convince myself they were fake. Has anyone else had a moment where their own AI image felt too real to defend as art?

That blur between generated and real is getting thinner every month. The wing shadows are the kind of detail that trips up most people, even the ones who swear they can spot AI every time. Kind of makes you wonder if the "uncanny valley" is just something we tell ourselves to feel better about it.
