Paid $40 for a midjourney sub just to win an argument with my brother in law
My brother in law kept saying AI pictures are not real art so I dropped $40 on a month of Midjourney to prove a point. I typed in a description of my grandma's porch in Toledo and it spit out something that looked almost exactly like it. He went quiet, then said the computer did all the work, not me. Where do you draw the line between the person typing and the machine making the pixels?
Spent $30 on a different one last month for pretty much the same fight with my cousin, so yeah, been there. The part that gets me is the prompt itself, like I had to describe the light hitting the kitchen table just right and how the chairs were scuffed up, that's all stuff only a person who sat there would know to say. He's technically right that the computer made the pixels but it wouldn't have made anything without you telling it what to make.
