ComfyUI vs Midjourney for one week, the control difference is wild

I spent last week making the same prompt in both tools to see which one felt more like art. Midjourney gave me pretty pictures fast, but ComfyUI let me fix the hands and lighting step by step. It took like 4 hours to set up the node workflow, but once I did, I could tweak one tiny thing without redoing everything. Has anyone else found that the extra effort of a local setup makes the final piece feel more like yours, or is that just me being picky?

Does the finished thing need to feel like it came from you, or just look good? I spent a whole weekend once getting a node graph right for a single character pose, and by the end I cared more about the flowchart than the actual image. That control is addictive, sure, but it also turns into a hobby of its own. Midjourney feels like asking a smart friend to paint, ComfyUI feels like building the paintbrush. Both are fine, but only one of them leaves you with a pile of weird half-finished nodes you're scared to delete.
