Wasted $60 on a cheap headlamp for an old mill trip

I bought a bargain headlamp online for a night visit to the abandoned Weston Mill. The batteries died after 20 minutes, leaving me in the dark with just my phone light. I missed half the upper floor because I couldn't see into the corners. Ended up having to go back a second time with a proper light. What's a reliable brand you all use for exploring dark places?

Fenix headlamps have never let me down in old mines.

Gotta disagree on the never part. My Fenix PD35 died on me last year in a limestone cave, total blackout about a mile in. The switch just stopped working. Still a good light, but they're not perfect.
