The old textile mill in Lowell had a roof cave in last month
Honestly, I went back to check on the mill on Fletcher Street where I used to shoot photos in 2019. The whole east wing roof gave way after that big storm, and now the looms are buried under 3 feet of rubble and wet insulation. It made me think about how fast nature reclaims stuff, even a place that ran for 80 years straight. Anyone else have a spot they used to visit that just got too dangerous to walk into?

The mall where I hung out in high school is literally half gone now, and the food court smells like mold and stale grease. Was there last year to grab a quick slice and the whole back corridor was sealed off with those plastic sheets like a crime scene. It hit me that we treat places like they're permanent until they just aren't, and then we act surprised when a roof falls in or a store closes overnight. Reminds me of how the old roller rink by the highway turned into a flea market, then a storage unit place, now it's just a dirt lot with a fence around it. We keep building stuff and walking away like it'll hold itself together forever, but nothing does.
