Just changed my mind about old barns after visiting one in Iowa

I always thought old barns were just boring wooden shells until I walked into one outside Des Moines last Friday. There was an entire 1920s Ford truck buried under hay bales in the corner, untouched for decades. The woodwork on the rafters had these hand-carved joints that looked like they'd hold up another hundred years. Now I get why people go crazy over these places, there's real history hiding in the details. Anybody else find something unexpected in a barn or old shed that totally shifted how you see them?

Heard a podcast once about a guy finding prohibition era booze hidden in an old barn wall.

lol "prohibition era booze" like that's some rare find. I'd be more worried about finding a nest of angry raccoons guarding some ancient moonshine. My uncle found a literal skeleton in his grandpa's barn once. Turned out it was just a deer carcass but still nearly gave him a heart attack.
