Hit 50 abandoned buildings visited this weekend and it totally changed my mind about safety gear

I always thought a basic dust mask was enough for exploring, but after counting 3 close calls with rusty nails and falling debris across those 50 spots, I finally bought a hard hat and respirator and now I feel stupid for not doing it sooner - has anyone else had a close call that made you rethink your kit?

Wait, did YOUR leg also get all swollen and green after stepping on that thing? My whole foot looked like a rotten avocado for like a week, man. Had to hobble around work and everything, it was MISERABLE.
