Drove 90 minutes to shoot a ghost town near Bodie and my SD card corrupted on the last 20 photos
So this past Saturday I finally made the trip out to a half collapsed mining town about 90 minutes past Bodie, been on my list for months. I shot 214 frames across like four hours in 95 degree heat, crawling through old cabins and a stamp mill that still had ore carts sitting inside. I get back to the truck, pop the card into my laptop, and about 20 shots near the end just show up as gray squares with a little error icon. The card is a cheap 64GB I bought at a gas station two years ago because I forgot mine at home, so I know I did this to myself. I tried three different recovery programs when I got back and got maybe 6 of them back, all low res junk. The worst part is the ones I lost were inside the assay office where the light was perfect, and I doubt I will ever get back out there since it is a 3 hour round trip. I have since ordered two new cards but I am paranoid now, does anyone here run dual card slots on shoots or do you just pray every time you pull the card?
