That one August week in 1958 when our street had two block parties in five days
My grandma left me a box of her old photos and one showed our whole neighborhood eating fried chicken off paper plates on folding tables. She wrote on the back August 1958, and I remember her telling me that was the week the new TV store opened on Main Street and Mr. Henderson won a washer at the church raffle. Two block parties in five days because everyone was so excited about something. Does anyone else have family stories about a specific week that just stood out like that, or is it just me?
