Warning: My boss just wrecked my visit to a quiet mountain town nobody talks about

I saved up for months to go to this little town in the hills that a traveler I met once raved about. It has these old trails and a cozy cafe that feels like stepping back in time. Then my boss springs a huge report on me with a tight deadline right when I was supposed to leave. I begged to push it, but he said no way and made it sound like my job was on the line. So I canceled everything and now I'm just staring at my screen all week. It hurts knowing I missed something so unique for another boring work task. Sometimes I wonder if this job is worth missing out on life's cool spots.

Heard a traveler say jobs cost us the best stories, honestly.

Fund adventures too, @the_shane, mine paid for the trip.

That report deadline shows your boss values your skills a lot. Sticking with it could lead to a promotion or easier time off requests next year. Skipping one trip now might let you plan an even bigger adventure later with no stress!
