A simple wave from the cab changed how neighbors see our work
I run a backhoe in neighborhoods a lot. People would get upset with the noise and mess. I began waving and smiling at folks from my seat. They started to wave back and even brought us water. Now, the job goes smoother with less hassle from nearby homes.

Leaving a note with hours is a good call. My handwriting is so bad, my last note looked like a creepy doodle. Had one neighbor ask if it was a secret code. Now I just point at my watch and hope they get the idea.

Try explaining your schedule to them too. I mean, a wave is nice, but if folks know the loud part ends by 3 PM, they relax more. Maybe leave a note on your truck with your hours or something. It shows you care about their day.
