Rant: Sorting my vinyl records by sleeve art sparked a poster design concept
I was cleaning my living room and decided to arrange my records based on cover colors and patterns. The mix of bold graphics and subtle textures gave me a fresh take on layering for a music festival poster. I ended up drafting a layout that mimics the random yet cohesive feel of the display. It's cool how simple home tasks can feed into graphic design work.

My copy of 'Kind of Blue' has this faded blue tone that looks great next to brighter albums. I tried a similar color layering for a flyer last year, but it ended up looking like a sad ocean scene. My design skills are about as sharp as a butter knife sometimes. Still, it's neat how everyday stuff like sorting records can spark ideas. I might borrow your method for my next project, though I'll probably just make another mess.

Actually, that sad ocean look might work for some projects.

Trust @caseyh97 to turn a classic into a sad ocean.
