My stubborn refusal to use power augers cost me a whole season.
I always dug post holes by hand, sure it built character. But after my back gave out and jobs piled up, I bought an auger and doubled my output. Who else has been won over by machinery they once avoided?

We talk about output, but rarely about how machinery changes our relationship with the work itself. It goes from being a chore to something you can actually plan and expand upon.

It even changes how we see free time.

Used to see tools as just ways to finish jobs faster. But my old washing machine breaking down changed that. Waiting at the laundromat for hours every week just to have clean clothes felt like a trap. Getting a new one turned laundry from a time-eating chore into a small task I can schedule and forget, which actually frees up mind space to plan other things.
