Had to choose between a 1950s lamp and a vintage typewriter at a sale in Tacoma

I went to this estate sale last Saturday and there was a gorgeous mid-century lamp for $40 and an old Smith-Corona typewriter for $35. I grabbed the lamp because my living room is dark, but now I keep thinking about that typewriter and how cool it would look on my desk. Has anyone else regretted a quick choice like that?

Ngl I did the exact same thing last year at a flea market in Portland. Passed on a beat-up Underwood typewriter for $30 and grabbed a table lamp instead. That lamp is still sitting in my garage collecting dust because it clashed with everything in my house. Meanwhile I see typewriters on marketplace all the time but they're never that cheap. Honestly you probably made the right call though. Good light in a room makes way more difference than a cool decoration on a desk. And those old typewriters are heavy as hell to move around if you ever rearrange your space.
