Ghost beeping is just bad design, not user error.

Disagree with you there. Ghost beeping happens because people don't understand what their tool is actually telling them. That stud finder is picking up stuff like moisture, old wiring, or dense drywall compound - it's not a ghost. Had a guy on my crew blame his finder for beeping everywhere. Walked him through it and turns out he had steel mesh in his walls for plaster repair. Tool worked fine, he just didn't know what he was looking at.
