Last month my dredge pump clogged on a job in Port Arthur and I lost half a day

I was working a maintenance dredge in Port Arthur last month and my pump just stopped moving material. Turns out a big piece of plastic sheeting had wrapped around the impeller and choked everything up. Anyone got a trick for clearing those unexpected soft debris clogs without pulling the whole pump apart?

I had a buddy who just reversed the pump flow for 30 seconds and it cleared right out.

Yeah @west.alice I gotta call that one. Reversing flow on a soft clog like plastic sheeting always seems to just push it deeper into the impeller or wrap it tighter. Had a guy try that last year and it just made the tear down worse.
