I thought the new silt curtain design was just a gimmick for clean water rules.

We had to use one on a job in the Willamette last month, and I was sure it would just slow us down. The foreman said it could cut our turbidity by 80 percent, which sounded like a sales pitch. After a week, the water downstream was visibly clearer, and the inspector's meter readings backed it up. It actually let us keep a steady pace without stopping for fines. Has anyone else run a job with those new curtain systems, and did it change your cycle time?

Honestly, that sounds like a fluke or you just got lucky with the conditions.

Wait, you got an 80 percent cut in the Willamette? That river moves fast. I had a crew try a similar curtain on a slower channel and we barely hit 50. Your soil must have been perfect for it.
