I finally found the trick to fix a sticky door hinge without replacing it

My bedroom door has been sticking for months, mostly in the summer when the wood swells. I tried sanding the edge but it made it worse, then I remembered an old guy on YouTube said to rub a candle along the hinge pin. It's been sliding smooth for 3 days now. Has anyone else tried wax on hinges or is there a better fix?

My buddy tried sanding his door too and it made things so much worse he had to buy a whole new door. He's the kind of guy who watches a five minute video and thinks he's a pro. Anyway I told him about your candle trick and he tried it on his kitchen cabinet that was sticking like crazy. He texted me a week later saying it worked perfectly and his wife stopped yelling at him about the cabinet. So I guess old guy YouTube wisdom actually comes through sometimes.
