Swapped thermal paste to a fancy carbon one and my temps went UP by 5C
After reading all the hype about Thermalright TFX being the best, I spent $15 on a tiny tube and repasted my 6 year old i7-6700K last Tuesday. Instead of dropping temps, my CPU now idles at 38C instead of 33C under my old Noctua cooler. Did I mess up the application or is this stuff just overrated for older chips like mine?
