Monitors at different heights wrecked my neck for 6 months

Had my main monitor up high and secondary down low. Thought it looked cool. Then my chiropractor in Austin asked why my right shoulder was always tensed up. Has anyone else figured out a good rule for matching monitor heights without buying a fancy stand?

Oh man, the shrimp comment from your friend is brutal but so accurate (I've been there too). It's wild how much a simple height mismatch can totally wreck your whole body over time.

Saying it "looked cool" is exactly what got me too. I had my monitors all artsy and mismatched for months thinking I was being clever. Then a friend who edits photos told me I looked like a shrimp every time I used the secondary screen. Now I keep both screens at the same height with the top edges lined up. It feels boring but my neck actually stopped hurting after two weeks. Sometimes boring setup wins.
