Set my Facebook ad to run for 2 days instead of 7 by accident, got triple the conversions.
I was testing ad sets for a local landscaping client in Des Moines and fat-fingered the end date, but the shorter window made the algorithm push harder to hit its delivery target, and now I'm wondering if tight deadlines actually force better optimization or if I just got lucky with timing has anyone else seen this happen?

Yeah I used to be one of those guys who thought longer run time always wins, you know, more data more better or whatever. But then I had a campaign for a small ecommerce brand that I set to run for like 10 days and it was flat, then I accidentally killed it after 3 days and the conversion rate shot up almost double. It made me rethink everything. I think the algorithm gets complacent when it has a big window, like it spreads the budget thin and doesn't prioritize the real buyers. But when you squeeze the timeframe, it seems like it gets hungry and only goes after people who are actually gonna click and buy. I've seen this happen a few times now with different niches and it's definitely not just luck, there's something to the tight deadline forcing smarter delivery.

More data more better" - man, that phrase should be tattooed on every marketer who learned the hard way like us. But seriously, you accidentally killing the campaign early is the kind of happy accident that makes you question everything you thought you knew. I swear the algorithm is like a lazy teenager with a long runway, it just coasts along and wastes budget. But give it a tight deadline and it suddenly remembers it needs to actually earn its keep. Makes you wonder how many of our "best practices" are just cover for the algorithm being lazy, right?
