Why does nobody talk about the long game in SEO?

Everyone in here seems obsessed with ranking in 2 weeks using AI blogs and link schemes, but I spent 6 months building original guides and getting cited by 3 local news sites in Ohio. That slow grind doubled my organic traffic while my buddy's quick tricks got slapped by the August update. Has anyone else found patience beats hacks when it comes to sustainable rankings?
