Split test on landing pages taught me something obvious
Last month I ran a quick A/B test on two versions of a product landing page for a client in Denver. Version A had all the selling points above the fold, version B was a single big headline plus a short video. Version B beat it by 38% on signups over 10 days. People skim, they do not read paragraphs, and the video did the explaining in 90 seconds. Anyone else see big wins from just stripping a page way down?
That 38% jump from a Denver client's test doesn't shock me at all, because I watched a bakery page drop from 800 words to 60 and bookings went up. Watching people scroll past walls of text is painful when you spent hours writing every word, so I feel you on how weird the win feels. Cutting stuff is scary but the numbers keep saying the same thing.
