I finally caught why my Facebook ads were tanking after 3 years

Turns out I was targeting the wrong audience the whole time because I never checked the 'detailed targeting' overlap tool until a client pointed it out last month; has anyone else missed something this simple for way too long?

Honestly I've been there too but with audience age ranges. For like 2 years I was targeting 25-45 for a skincare brand and wondering why my cost per click was through the roof. Turned out the sweet spot was 35-55 because younger people weren't bothered about anti-aging yet. Once I adjusted that one number my ad sets went from losing money to actually profitable in like a week. It's wild how one little setting you overlook can drain your whole budget without you even knowing.
