Why does nobody talk about how rewriting a single prompt 4 times beats writing 10 new ones
Last month I watched a friend in Austin crank out 40 brand new story prompts in one sitting, and they all felt flat and samey by number 12. I took one prompt about a lighthouse keeper and rewrote it 4 separate times over 3 days, each version adding one small twist like a missing boat or a strange radio signal. Version 4 was so much stronger than anything I would've come up with cold that it made me question the whole grind of constantly chasing fresh ideas. Has anyone else found that sitting with one prompt and reworking it beats the pressure to keep generating new ones?
