Vent: my quick lube job on the boom pins ate up 5 hours

I figured a 20 minute grease and tighten on the outrigger boom pins would be nothing, but the zerk fitting was stripped and I had to torch it out plus ream the hole. Anyone else have a 'simple' maintenance task balloon because of one rusted fitting on a Grove?
