Why do people keep treating Procore like it's the only option out there?

I swear every contractor I talk to acts like Procore is the holy grail of construction software. Went to a meetup in Austin last month and three different guys were gushing about it like it's perfect. Then I asked them how they handle RFIs and both said "uh it works fine" but couldn't tell me anything specific. I switched to a smaller platform called Buildertrend after my last project got bogged down with Procore's clunky mobile app. For a fraction of the cost I get better field reporting and my guys actually use it. Has anyone else dumped the big names for something more practical?

Is Procore paying people to say nice things about it or what?

Figured out why they're pushing it so hard - it's not payment, it's referrals. Most of those glowing reviews come from construction firms that get a month free for every company they bring in. Classic referral bonus system but dressed up as organic reviews.
