Just compared my neighbor's alarm setup to mine after his got triggered 3 times last month

He had a cheap wireless system from Amazon and I use a hardwired Honeywell with monitored sensors, and after his false alarms got him fined $150 by the city I'm even more convinced wired is the way to go, has anyone else dealt with a false alarm that turned into a headache?

Remembered @verab28 mentioning her landlord issues and ended up helping my neighbor swap out his Amazon sensors for simpler wired ones.

Fought with my landlord for three months over a false alarm issue that turned into a whole thing with the fire department. Turns out the cheap sensor was picking up steam from my bathroom vent. Every time I took a hot shower it would trigger. The city didn't fine me but they threatened to make me pay for all the emergency response costs if it happened again. I finally just unplugged the whole system and bought a few Ring cameras instead. Way less drama and I can actually check if something's wrong without setting off sirens that annoy the whole block.
