TIL a $6 laptop stand saved me from 3 years of neck pain in the repair bay
Spent 3 years hunched over bench repairs in my garage in Portland before I finally put a cheap stand under the laptop I use for diagnostics. Turns out I was craning my neck at a 40 degree angle for hours, and now my shoulders don't ache after a 6 hour board swap. Anybody got a chair setup that actually works for bench work?
Funny how the cheap fix is usually the one that works. Same thing with sleep, people buy $200 pillows and it turns out going to bed an hour earlier was the whole answer. For bench work a stool you can set high with a foot rest beats any fancy chair, your mileage may vary though.
