My old boss swore by thermal paste swaps on every slow laptop, and after 30 machines I finally get it
I used to think repasting was a waste of time and that a good cleanup was enough, but he was right about the 5 to 8 degree drops on those dusty Dell Latitudes we got from the school district. Did 30 of them over the past two weeks and every single one ran quieter and cooler. Anyone else skip the repaste and just blow out the fan, or do you always pull the heatsink too?
