Tried a code editor from 2012 after years of VS Code, shocked at the difference

I mean, I dug up an old copy of Sublime Text 2 from a backup drive last weekend, just for kicks. Compared to VS Code with all its extensions, it loads in like 2 seconds flat and doesn't eat 1.2GB of RAM on a simple Python file. Maybe it's just me, but I forgot how snappy things used to feel before everything became a bloated web app. Has anyone else gone back to an older tool and actually preferred the simplicity over the features?

Man, that old Sublime felt like lightning compared to this RAM hog now.
