My kid asked why I still type out every bracket by hand and I did not have a good answer
Last week my 12 year old sat next to me while I was working through a basic Python tutorial and asked why I don't just let the editor close my brackets for me. I said that's how I learned back in 2001 in a community college class in Toledo, typing everything out on a beige keyboard, and he just stared at me like I was describing dial up. It hit me that he's right, autocomplete is not cheating, it's just how people learn now, and I was making extra work for myself out of some weird pride thing. So I turned the setting on and my error count dropped a bunch in one evening. Do you all let your editor handle brackets and quotes, or do you still type them yourself like me?
