Chat with a Doom speedrunner about source ports
Was talking to this guy on Discord who speedruns Doom 2 and he told me he only uses Chocolate Doom for his runs. Said he hates how GZDoom changes the physics even a tiny bit. Made me realize I've been overcomplicating my mods with fancy features when the raw engine feel is what people actually want.

Only uses Chocolate Doom" oh yeah because having zero QOL features and a 35 FPS cap is the true hardcore way to play Doom. I bet he also types his command line arguments in binary just to flex.

Guess I'm out here running Doom on a potato with a black and white monitor and a prayer, lol. Seriously though, I tried Chocolate Doom once and my wrist hurt from how slow it felt. I'll stick to my GZDoom with a million mods and a smooth 60 frames, thanks. But hey, if someone wants to live like a 1993 gamer, more power to them, I guess we all need a hobby!
