Just watched a brand new $400 food processor seize up on a batch of pesto

Happened yesterday during lunch prep at the bistro downtown. Chef bought this fancy Robot Coupe model 3 weeks ago and one of the interns packed it with basil and pine nuts without enough oil. I had to take the whole thing apart to dig the blades out. Anyone else have to babysit expensive gear because people dont read the manual?

Why do people think a food processor is a garbage disposal? You gotta treat that thing like a precision tool, not a blender. Common sense goes a long way with expensive gear.

Did you catch that article about how most commercial kitchen gear fails because of user error, not manufacturing defects? Read a study that said something like 70% of warranty claims come from people not reading the basic instructions. Sounds like your chef needs to lock that manual to the machine with a zip tie.
