Pro tip: my $7 thrift store PSU beat my $50 cheap one
Picked up a used 400W Dell PSU for 7 bucks at a flea market in Austin and compared it to a no-name 600W I got online. Timed a stress test on my old i5 rig, the Dell held steady at 12.1V while the cheap one sagged to 11.4V and shutdown after 40 minutes. Opened both up, the Dell had proper heatsinks and a real fan bearing, the other one just had a sticker. Anyone else got a junk part that secretly worked better than the flashy option?

Trust the old Dell stuff, those OEM parts are boring but built like tanks. Cheap PSUs are just gambling with your whole rig.
