Just found out compressed air can fry a laptop fan if you spin it too long
I was cleaning out a 2015 Dell with a $4 can of air and blasted the fan full tilt for maybe 10 seconds, and it started making this grinding whine the next day. Turns out the bearings burn out when the air spins the blades faster than the motor ever does, so now I stick a toothpick in to hold the fan still first. Anyone else cook a fan this way or am I the only one?
