That trick with the knee kicker on stairs changed my day

Was on a job in a 1960s split level and the stair treads were driving me nuts. Overheard a guy at the supply house say to angle the knee kicker 15 degrees off center for the riser tuck, and it worked like a charm. Anyone else have a weird angle trick that saved your back?

I used to think that knee kicker trick was just one of those old wives' tales guys pass around to sound smart. But I tried it on a set of those 1960s bullnose treads last week and it saved me at least 20 minutes of fighting with the damn thing. Yeah, that 15 degree angle really does change how the riser tucks in, wish I'd known that years ago.

15 degrees exactly or close enough that still works?
