That one corner in a custom basement took me 4 hours longer than I planned
I was working on this L-shaped room in a house near Oak Creek last week and hit a weird corner where the previous guys had left a huge gap in the subfloor. Ended up having to cut a patch piece, glue it down, and let it set before I could even start stretching carpet. What started as a 2 hour job turned into 6 hours real quick. Anyone else run into hidden subfloor surprises that just kill your day?

Actually 4 hours extra sounds about right for quality work. Would you rather rush it?

Wait, hold up - a 4 hour overrun just on one corner? Man, that is brutal. Ive done some tricky L-shaped rooms myself but never had a gap that needed a full patch job and drying time before stretching. That sounds like the previous guys just plain gave up on that spot.
Your patience for actually fixing it right is crazy impressive though. Most guys I know wouldve just crammed extra pad in there and called it good. Letting glue set before stretching is the pro move.
Must have been a long evening staring at that corner waiting for it to cure. Your blood pressure has got to be through the roof after that kind of delay on what should be a quick hit. Four hours on one corner is the kind of thing that makes you question your life choices.
