18 years in and a rotary stretcher just humbled me
Been installing since 2006, mostly residential in Phoenix. Always used a knee kicker for hallways and tight spots, figured I had it down. Last month I did a 40 foot run in a Scottsdale house and the homeowner pointed out a ripple near the door jamb. I re-stretched it three times with the knee kicker and it still looked off. A buddy on the crew handed me his rotary stretcher and said to walk it from the middle out. Fixed in one pass. Now I'm wondering how many jobs over the years had subtle waviness I just blamed on the pad. Anyone else skip the rotary because of the setup time and later regret it?
