Vent: People keep using the wrong blade for cutting pressure treated lumber

I'm on a deck rebuild in Charlotte and I've seen three different guys this week using a standard framing blade on their miter saws for PT pine. It gums up the blade, burns the wood, and makes a mess. You need a blade with fewer teeth and a special coating, like a 24-tooth Diablo with the anti-stick stuff. How many times do you have to explain this before it sticks?

Wasn't there a Fine Homebuilding article about this exact thing? They said the chemicals in the wood react with the steel and glue in normal blades. It's not just about gumming up, it wrecks the blade's temper over time. Makes the cuts look terrible too. You're right about needing that special coating, it's the only thing that holds up.

My buddy Jake ruined two blades before reading hunt.rowan's advice.

Yeah, hunt.rowan is spot on, it's like the wood is fighting back. I learned that the hard way after burning through a blade that cost me a small fortune. The cuts looked so fuzzy and torn, I thought my saw was broken. That special coating isn't just a sales gimmick, it's basically armor. Why don't more people talk about this before you wreck your good tools?
