Old timer at the lumber yard told me to stop rushing my dado cuts
He said I was fighting the wood instead of letting the blade do the work, turns out he was right after I slowed down and stopped forcing it last Tuesday on a set of shelves.

Oh man, so what kind of wood were you cutting? I'm curious if that makes a bigger difference with the dado blade or if it's more about the technique itself.

I was watching a YouTube video from a cabinetmaker who said red oak actually burns easier with a dado blade than soft maple does. He swore technique mattered way more than wood species though, like feeding speed and consistent pressure.
