My crew can't agree if coffee counts as a warm-up before lifting.

Half of us grab a cup and go right to heavy stuff, but the other half insists on actual movements first (you know, like arm circles), so which side is safer for our backs?

Ever think the caffeine just masks how stiff you really are? Relying on that fake alertness is how people get hurt.

My first year as a mechanic, I had a bad habit of just having coffee before work. I tweaked my back pretty good one morning reaching for a tool. For me, switching to a real breakfast and some light stretching made a huge difference in how my body felt, noahcampbell. The coffee didn't fix the stiffness, it just let me ignore it until something gave.
