Bought a $140 Japanese pull saw to trim out a closet and now my power miter sits in the truck
Honestly I grabbed a Dozuki at a woodworking store in Grand Rapids about 8 weeks ago because I hated dragging my miter box upstairs for small trim jobs. First cabinet I trimmed out, the cut was so clean I didn't even need to sand the ends, and the thing cut on the pull stroke so there was zero tear out on the face. Took me a few tries to stop pushing like every other saw I've owned, that was the only real learning curve. Paid $140, which felt dumb for one saw, but I've probably done 6 closets and a stair rail since without dragging out a single power tool. Only downside is the thin blade flexes if you get in a hurry or hit a nail, so I keep a spare in the case. Curious if you guys run a flush cut saw for scribing or do you stick with a block plane and chisel.
